Carol   Kleinman

“I love color—the way one color looks next to another, the way a color changes when you put it next to another.   I love the mood created by different colors and the emotions that they communicate.  As a psychiatrist, I see artistic expression as a positive way to express emotion and as a way to develop the right side of my brain.”

Born in Greeley, CO, raised in Kansas City, Carol Kleinman is a practicing psychiatrist in Chevy Chase, Maryland.  Her weekend retreat is in Kent Narrows, Maryland, where she boats and paints.  She also has traveled extensively in Europe and Asia.
Her paintings draw her closer to the beauty of the Chesapeake and Coastal Maine, and the far-off countries that she has visited.
She brings an inner perspective and awareness to everything that she paints.  Before painting, she thinks about what colors will work best and how they will play off each other.
